Aliwan Fiesta, the Philippine’s festival of champions, announces its official list of participants for this year’s much-awaited Streetdance and Float Parade Competitions, set on June 27 - 29, at the CCP Complex in Pasay City.

The excitement is building up as representatives from across the Philippines prepare to showcase their stunning costumes, energizing choreographies, and artistic prowess.

Contingents vying to take home the championship for this year’s Streetdance Competition are:

a. Lakbayaw Festival from the City of Manila b. Panagbenga Flower Festival from Baguio City c. Bodong Festival from Rizal, Kalinga d. Halamanan Festival from Guiguinto, Bulacan e. Dinamulag Mango Festival from Iba, Zambales f. Panagkakadua-an Festival from San Felipe, Zambales g. Antipolo Maytime Festival from Antipolo City h. Hamaka Festival from Taytay, Rizal i. Niyogyugan Festival from Pagbilao, Quezon j. Kaogma Festival from Baao, Camarines Sur k. Cagsawa Festival from Daraga, Albay l. Dinagyang Festival from Iloilo m. Tultugan Festival from Iloilo n. Sinulog Festival from Cebu o. Meguyaya Festival from Upi, Maguindanao del Norte.

Meanwhile, participants aiming to clinch the top spot in the Float Parade Competition are: a. Bahay Pangisdaan from Muntinlupa City b. Halamanan Festival from Guiguinto, Bulacan c. Republica Filipina - Fiesta Republica from Malolos, Bulacan d. Panagkakadua-an Festival from San Felipe, Zambales e. Ilwan a Inaul sa Kutawato from Cotabato City f. Guinakit from Cotabato City g. Adat Betad sa Maguiranun from Mother Kabuntalan, Maguindanao del Norte h. Lamin o Bidadari from Northern Kabuntalan, Maguindanao del Norte

Prizes and criteria

In the Streetdance Competition, contestants will be judged based on:

Theme/concept - 35% Choreography - 20% Performance - 20% Costume - 15% Props - 10%

The grand prize winner will receive P1.5 million, with cash prizes for runners-up as well as special awards for Pride of Place, Best Costume, and Best Musical Accompaniment.

For the Float Competition, judging criteria include:

Craftsmanship - 50% Theme - 25% Overall impact and ingenuity - 25%

The grand winner will receive P750,000, with cash prizes for runners-up.

Aliwan Fiesta 2024 is organized by the MBC Media Group and promises an exhilarating extravaganza of music, dance, and cultural displays.
